Alles anzeigenHi jumpjack,
I have a Plugin Hybrid 160 and have also tested your procedure.
It is exactly as you say. After releasing the brake pedal (taking my foot off the pedal), my Captur started and stopped after about 1-2 seconds as the parking brake (P) was activated. However, I have never noticed this behaviour as I only release the seat belt when the car is stationary and the engine is switched off.
Whether this is a fault or not, I cannot say, but I suspect not and I agree with Uh_newyork (Udo) that this is an additional safety measure.
Best Regards
Helmut

There is a serious error in this "safety measure": car initially makes you believe you can go (because it allows manual disengaging of parking brake), but as soon as you go... the parking brake is engaged again and additionally the parking gear is engaged! (can a car/computer change its mind?!?)
The car (or the engineer which programmed it...) must make a decision: when I release seatbelt, can I move or not?
- No --> engage parking brake (as it does now), engage parking gear immediately and regardless of pedal brake position, disallow disengaging of parking brakes and and gear until seatbelt is engaged
- Yes --> do not engage anything unless I live the car (and there are pressure sensors on the seat, opening sensors on the doors and hand sensor on the steering wheel!
Current SW makes the car behave in a way which is unpredictable by the driver.
